Questions and Answers
- 01Answer: Being young and new can be an advantage, not just a drawback. And in any case, we’re not just young. Tzur Israel is made up of men and women of all ages, many with extensive experience. Some of us are also not new to politics. Politics isn’t just about elected officials—it’s also about the professional and social ecosystem surrounding them. Tzur Israel brings together experienced individuals from a wide range of public, political, media, and social roles. The current system isn’t working. It’s time to refresh it—and that’s exactly what Tzur Israel brings to politics.
- 02Answer: A great leader who has fulfilled his historical role. We expect him to take responsibility for the failures of October 7th and make way for a new generation of leaders. That aside, Netanyahu's trial is doing more harm than good. We support a “French Law” that would prohibit investigations of a sitting prime minister. However, such a law must come together with term limits. Long terms in office invite stagnation and corruption.
- 03Answer: Yes. Just as there are British Jews with equal rights in England, there is no reason why Israeli Arabs shouldn't have equal rights in a Jewish state. The meaning of “sovereignty” is not about displays of power, but rather internalizing political responsibility.Just as we expect England to care for its Jewish citizens, we expect the same of ourselves regarding Arab citizens of Israel. We support diversity, freedom, and shared prosperity—and oppose narrow sectoral interests and zero-sum politics. If you're proud to be Israeli and identify with our vision—there’s a place for you with us!
- 04Answer: We don’t hand out grades for “who’s more Jewish.” The path to healing begins with being proud of our roots—each person in their own family and culture. The State of Israel is the home of the entire Jewish people. That’s why, even in the areas of Jewish identity and religious services, we support freedom and diversity—and oppose coercion and monopolies.
- 05Answer: No. We will not evacuate communities. The idea of uprooting settlements as part of a so-called “peace” agreement is absurd. We strive for a secure Middle East that is open to all. In that vision, there’s no reason why Jews shouldn’t be able to move, trade, and settle anywhere in the region. We support peace – but only if it follows the concept of “the sword and the olive branch,” which combines political initiative with security assertiveness. We won’t drag our feet or wait for the other side to decide for us. We will take the initiative and pursue an arrangement that is good for Israel. And if there is no response – we are also prepared to annex.
- 06Answer: Yes. National service will be mandatory for all citizens, and it will include various service tracks so that each individual can find a meaningful way to contribute that aligns with their way of life. Of course, those who serve in the security system will receive significantly greater compensation than those who serve in areas such as welfare, health, or education. We don’t know which track will suit your daughter, but she will be eligible to serve in a framework that allows her to maintain a Haredi lifestyle.
- 07Answer: No. The progressive movement has allied itself with hatred of Israel and is a hypocritical and destructive force. We are proud Jews, and precisely as Jews who have experienced persecution and hatred, we choose a tolerant and responsible approach. Unlike progressives who have turned victimhood into a value, we do not believe in whining. Our pursuit of diversity and tolerance stems from a liberal worldview of freedom and responsibility. Democratic governance and the encouragement of diversity are a recipe for prosperity, especially for those with a strong identity who seek the liberty to fulfill it.
